Qatar to Host Joint Tactical Exercise of GCC Security Agencies

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the State of Qatar is set to host the Joint Tactical Exercise of the security agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (Arabian Gulf Security 4) from January 25 to February 4, 2026. Participating in this drill are security apparatuses and forces from the GCC states, along with professional security units from the United States of America. The objective is to share expertise and experiences in dealing with various incidents and scenarios.

According to Qatar News Agency, the organization of this drill is part of efforts to enhance the Gulf security cooperation system, elevate readiness, and strengthen joint coordination to keep pace with the evolving nature of security challenges. It aims to bolster effective and rapid response capabilities to emergency crises and incidents, based on best-approved practices and criteria.

The exercise broadly comprises joint training programs simulating an array of realistic scenarios. It offers a test for operational measures and plans, enhancing the efficiency of field coordination and integrated roles among the participating units and forces. This supports the exchange of expertise and reinforces readiness to handle a wide diversity of cases and circumstances.

The drill's supreme organizing committee has completed the arrangements in terms of essential organization, training, and logistics for the participating forces. The exercise's events will be conducted across several sites in accordance with the highest security, safety, and efficiency standards.

These preparations will ensure the integration of the training components to be further adapted to the set objectives. This contributes to strengthening readiness and developing coordination and collaboration capabilities among the participating forces.

The Qatari supreme committee organizing this drill applauds the participation of the GCC countries and the United States of America in this event on Qatar's soil. It emphasized that this exercise represents a consequential milestone to advance security coordination mechanisms and levels of alertness. This is in alignment with the GCC states' aspirations toward a more integrated and effective security system, in pursuit of strengthening the security and stability of the region.
