Damascus: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani announced that Qatar welcomes the new Syrian administration's initiatives, with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani planning a visit to Damascus soon. This announcement was made during a joint press conference with HE Commander-in-Chief of the New Syrian Administration Ahmed Al Sharaa.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Prime Minister praised measures taken to ensure civilian safety and the stability of state institutions in Syria. He conveyed HH the Amir's congratulations to the Syrian people, emphasizing Qatar's ongoing support as Syria enters a new phase of rebuilding and development.

HE the Prime Minister highlighted Qatar's commitment to partnering with Syria for mutual benefits, including backing efforts to provide sustainable public services. He noted that Syria is witnessing a revival, with displaced citizens beginning to return, and expressed hopes for the new administration's engagement in state-building and refugee repatriation.

HE the Prime Minister reiterated Qatar's plans to offer technical support for infrastructure restoration, including a significant electricity provision agreement aimed at enhancing power supply across over ten Syrian regions. He also called for international cooperation to sustain humanitarian support and urged the lifting of sanctions on Syria.

HE the Prime Minister condemned the Israeli occupation's actions in the buffer zones, demanding an immediate withdrawal. He affirmed Qatar's unwavering support for the Syrian people's pursuit of peace, justice, and international cooperation, particularly concerning sanctions relief.

The discussions with HE Al Sharaa covered enhancing bilateral relations and development projects, alongside addressing global developments and support for the Syrian administration. HE the Prime Minister emphasized Qatar's moral and humanitarian role in supporting Syria.

HE Al Sharaa acknowledged the meeting's focus on strategic economic partnerships and the future of the region. He expressed gratitude for Qatar's consistent support throughout Syria's 14-year ordeal and commented on the absence of Iranian and Hezbollah-linked militias after Damascus's liberation.

HE Al Sharaa also praised Qatar's condemnation of the Israeli advance, highlighting coordinated efforts with international entities to address the situation and restore previous conditions in the buffer zone.
