Qatar Showcases Innovation Potential at Web Summit Lisbon.

Lisbon: The State of Qatar took center stage at the Web Summit in Lisbon, held from November 11 to 14, alongside over 70,000 tech innovators, investors, and business leaders from around the globe. According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by Director of the Government Communications Office, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organizing Committee. The delegation included representatives from various governmental and semi-governmental entities, emphasizing Qatar's commitment to fostering international cooperation in technology and innovation. The Web Summit team outlined the Qatari delegation's participation details, which featured diverse national entities and Qatari speakers from multiple sectors. The focus was on attracting investment to Qatar and bolstering its business sector, particularly in technology, artificial intelligence, and research and development. Additionally, the team highlighted the achievements of the fi rst edition of the Web Summit in Qatar, which marked significant milestones for the nation. During the summit, Qatari companies aimed to strengthen their international partnerships and explore new investment opportunities in the global market. A significant highlight was the launch of the Startup Qatar program by Invest Qatar. This initiative aims to support startups by providing funding and development programs, focusing on innovations in sectors such as gaming and healthtech. Following the success of the Web Summit Qatar 2024, which drew over 15,000 participants from 118 countries, preparations are underway for the next edition in February 2025. The upcoming event is expected to feature an even larger presence of companies and investors, further cementing Qatar's status as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
