Qatar SC, Al Wakrah Secure Spots in HH the Amir Cup Volleyball Semifinals

Qatar: Qatar SC and Al Wakrah have advanced to the semifinals of the 47th edition of HH the Amir Cup Volleyball Championship for men. The teams emerged victorious against Al Rayyan and Al Ahli, respectively, in the quarterfinals held at the Aspire Women's Hall, with the tournament being conducted in a single-elimination format.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar SC triumphed over Al Rayyan in the first quarterfinal match, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-17. Al Wakrah delivered a similar performance in the second match against Al Ahli, securing their semifinal spot with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-19.

Qatar SC is set to compete against the winner of the Al Arabi vs. Al Gharafa match, scheduled for Thursday. Meanwhile, Al Wakrah will face off against the winner of the Police vs. Al Sadd match, which will also conclude the quarterfinal stage on Thursday.

The semifinals, scheduled for next Sunday, are anticipated to be highly competitive, with the victorious teams advancing to the final, set for the following Wednesday. Eight teams, including Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, Police, and Al Rayyan, had qualified directly for the finals by finishing in the top four spots in the league, while Qatar SC, Al Gharafa, Al Sadd, and Al Ahli completed the quarterfinal lineup.

In terms of incentives, the Volleyball Association has announced substantial financial rewards, with the championship winner set to receive QAR 2 million, and the runner-up QAR 1 million.
