Doha: Qatar, along with the United States, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Turkiye, has expressed joint support for a Security Council Resolution currently under consideration. This resolution was drafted by the United States in consultation and cooperation with Council members and regional partners.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent cables of condolences to HH Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and HE President of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, on the passing of their family members. Concurrently, the State of Qatar strongly condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque courtyards by settlers and the attack on Al Hajja Hamida Mosque in Kafr Haris, labeling these actions as blatant violations of international law and resolutions.
Furthermore, Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change announced that the registration for the 2025-2026 winter camping season will conclude tomorrow through the ministry's online platform. In another development, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates discussed enhancing joint cooperation in biodiversity protection and nature reserve management.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family revealed the renewal of Qatar's membership in UNESCO's Intergovernmental Management of Social Transformations Programme. On the sports front, Qatar's national handball team triumphed over Iran 39-23 in the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh. In football, Switzerland and Morocco advanced to the Round of 16 in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, following victories over Egypt and the US, respectively.
Lastly, the State of Qatar emphasized the vital role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East in addressing the humanitarian needs of Palestinians, as highlighted in the New York Declaration from the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine.
