Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials on Thursday highlighted the official talks held between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun, emphasizing the State of Qatar's commitment to support Lebanon and the aspirations of the Lebanese people for revival, prosperity, and sustainable development.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper noted that the strong, historic relations between the State of Qatar and Lebanon are built on mutual respect and continuous support. The ties between both countries are rooted in a long legacy of collaboration, solidarity, and mutual assistance, with Qatar playing a pivotal role in supporting Lebanon during key turning points in its modern history. The newspaper explained that Qatar's efforts have contributed to fostering dialogue and easing tensions in Lebanon, highlighting the Qatari relief and development aid that has significantly alleviated the impact of the crises the country has faced. Al-Sharq emphasized that the outcomes of the official talks between HH the Amir and HE President of Lebanon will build upon the strong bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Sharq concluded by noting the announcement by HH the Amir of the renewal of the Qatari grant to support the salaries of the Lebanese Army, amounting to USD 60 million, in addition to 162 military vehicles, reaffirming Qatar's recognition of the vital national role of the Lebanese army and the importance of supporting it.
Al-Raya newspaper, for its part, affirmed that Lebanon occupies a special place in the hearts of Qataris. The State of Qatar reaffirms-through actions, not words-its sincere support for Lebanon and its people in facing their crises. The newspaper praised the talks held between HH the Amir and HE President of Lebanon, which addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, and investment, as well as several regional and international issues of common interest.
