Qatar Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Palestinians Amid Regional Tensions

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs SHeikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has reiterated Qatar's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, ensuring that humanitarian aid continues to reach them. His Excellency clarified that while Qatar will not assume responsibility for rebuilding efforts in the Gaza Strip, it will not abandon the Palestinians financially.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE SHeikh Mohammed emphasized the Palestinians' right to remain on their territories without being compelled to leave. During a discussion with Tucker Carlson, founder of Tucker Carlson Network, at the Doha Forum 2025, He highlighted Qatar's 13-year relationship with Hamas, initiated at the request of the United States, to facilitate ceasefire communications and aid delivery to Gaza.

He acknowledged the criticism Qatar faces for hosting Hamas but noted that engagement with all parties is crucial in resolving conflicts. Despite accusations, communication with Hamas has yielded ceasefire agreements and humanitarian outcomes. He refuted claims of Qatar funding Hamas, stating that all aid is transparently managed under US oversight, with Israel facilitating the process.

HE the Prime Minister stressed that Qatar's record with the US demonstrates a consistent focus on peace and de-escalation. He condemned Israeli actions targeting Doha, asserting that such acts contradict international obligations and highlighted Qatar's role as a mediator aiming for conflict resolution.

He recounted an Israeli attack on Doha during US-led negotiations with Hamas, noting former President Trump's disappointment. He dismissed media claims that the attack had US approval, attributing these narratives to attempts at undermining Qatar-US relations.

His Excellency underscored the mutual benefits of Qatar-US relations, founded on peaceful conflict resolution. He reaffirmed Qatar's support for Palestinians, emphasizing their right to determine their place of residence amidst ongoing adversities.

He warned of potential conflict escalation if violations in Gaza continue, advocating for the implementation of a peace plan endorsed by regional states, and the establishment of a Palestinian state through a two-state solution.

HE SHeikh Mohammed expressed hope for avoiding a future Israel-Iran conflict and emphasized the importance of reviving Iran nuclear program talks. He also highlighted efforts by the US to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, warning of global repercussions if the conflict persists.
