Doha: Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has announced that the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks are fully prepared to welcome and transport fans attending the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 Finals, scheduled from Dec. 1 to 18, 2025.
According to Qatar News Agency, service hours for both the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram will be extended on days with late matches, ensuring that spectators can utilize the Metro for their return journey post-match. This extension also applies to metrolink and metroexpress services. Park and Ride facilities are available at selected stations, allowing fans to park their vehicles and continue their journeys via the metro. However, the facilities at Education City and Lusail QNB stations will have certain restrictions during the tournament.
To accommodate increased passenger demand, 6-car trains will operate on the Red Line, with a total of 110 trains from the Doha Metro fleet in service during peak hours. Qatar Rail has implemented thorough preparations across all stations, deploying dedicated maintenance teams to ensure the facilities are ready for an anticipated increase in passenger numbers and to address any emergencies swiftly.
Additional wayfinding signage has been installed at key metro stations linked to the tournament venues. Trained staff will guide passengers and provide support to those with disabilities. Event teams will be stationed at stadium stations and other high-footfall locations, offering assistance through dedicated ticketing desks.
Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy and Business Development at Qatar Rail, expressed enthusiasm for welcoming fans, emphasizing the company's commitment to providing seamless and safe travel experiences. The 2025 FIFA Arab Cup will take place across six stadiums, with convenient metro access to most venues. A dedicated shuttle bus will connect fans to Al Bayt Stadium.
For the Lusail Tram services, adjustments will be made to accommodate the T100 Triathlon event and other safety requirements. The Pink Line will operate with certain limitations, while the Turquoise Line will not be in service.
Qatar Rail's 24/7 customer contact center and multilingual service team are prepared to assist fans and residents throughout the tournament. Trip planning and adherence to customer service instructions are recommended for fan safety. Retail experiences will be available at metro stations, enhancing the overall fan journey.
