The State of Qatar participated in the Third Arab Forum for Equality organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Cairo.
The state was represented at the forum by HE Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani.
The forum aimed to engage specialists, policymakers, decision-makers, and civil society organizations in the Arab region to find practical solutions to address aspects of inequality in times of crises. It sought to identify the links between inequality and multiple crises and to showcase best practices in this field. Additionally, the forum aimed to discuss recommendations made during the first and second forums (Amman 2022 – Beirut 2023) and to propose innovative and practical policy solutions that could mitigate forms of inequality during crises in the short, medium, and long term.
