Qatar National Bank Releases Updated Deposit Rates for Multiple Currencies

Doha: Deposit rates at opening as issued on Thursday by Qatar National Bank (QNB) have been released, providing detailed rates for several major currencies over different maturity periods. The bank has set the deposit rates for various terms ranging from one month to twelve months for currencies including USD, JPY, CHF, GBP, QAR, SAR, AED, and BHD.

According to Qatar News Agency, the deposit rate for the US Dollar (USD) is at 3.66724% for one month, slightly decreasing for longer terms, reaching 3.42170% for twelve months. The Japanese Yen (JPY) starts at 0.70000% for one month, with a gradual increase to 1.00000% for twelve months. The Swiss Franc (CHF) presents negative rates, beginning at -0.09000% for one month and fluctuating slightly, with the twelve-month rate at -0.07000%.

The British Pound (GBP) shows a varied pattern, starting at 3.62000% for one month, peaking at 3.83000% for twelve months. For local and regional currencies, the Qatari Riyal (QAR) starts at 4.10000% for one month, decreasing over time to 3.75000% for twelve months. The Saudi Riyal (SAR) has a steady rate of 4.30000% for two, six, and twelve months after starting at 4.50000% for one month.

Additionally, the deposit rate for the UAE Dirham (AED) begins at 2.05000% for one month and increases to 3.15000% for twelve months. The Bahraini Dinar (BHD) shows a declining trend, starting at 4.55000% for one month and reducing to 4.21000% by twelve months.

These rates provide insights into the current monetary landscape in Qatar, highlighting the bank's strategy in response to economic conditions.
