Qatar National Bank Issues Latest Deposit Rates for Major Currencies


Doha: Deposit rates at opening as issued on Sunday by Qatar National Bank (QNB) reveal the interest rates for various currencies including USD, JPY, CHF, GBP, QAR, SAR, AED, and BHD for different maturities ranging from one month to twelve months.



According to Qatar News Agency, the deposit rate for a one-month USD account is set at 4.10159%, while the JPY counterpart is at 0.35000%. The CHF has a negative rate of -0.20000% for the same period, and the GBP is at 3.95000%. For a two-month deposit, the USD rate slightly decreases to 4.01854%, and the JPY rate increases to 0.45000%. The CHF rate improves to -0.11000%, and the GBP rate rises to 4.05000%.



For deposits with a three-month maturity, the USD rate further declines to 3.93549%, and the JPY rate reaches 0.50000%. The CHF rate is at -0.12000%, while the GBP rate slightly increases to 4.08000%. Meanwhile, the six-month deposit rates show the USD at 3.78802%, JPY steady at 0.50000%, CHF at -0.07000%, and GBP rising to 4.15000%.



The twelve-month deposit rates reflect a continued decrease for USD at 3.58301%, a significant increase for JPY at 0.80000%, CHF at -0.04000%, and GBP at 4.18000%. For the Qatari Riyal (QAR), the one-month rate is 4.60000%, with a gradual decrease over the longer terms, reaching 4.00000% for twelve months.



The Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) maintains a steady rate of approximately 5.00000% for most maturities, with a slight decrease for the twelve-month rate at 4.95000%. The United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) begins at 2.05000% for one month and increases to 3.15000% for a twelve-month deposit. Lastly, the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) rate starts at 5.07000% for one month and decreases to 4.51000% for a twelve-month deposit.
