Doha:Qatar's Ministry of Justice has celebrated the graduation of 102 participants from its mandatory and professional legal training programs for 2026, organized by the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. The ceremony took place under the patronage of HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim Al Mohannadi.
According to Qatar News Agency, the graduates completed four programs aimed at enhancing legal expertise and preparing individuals for professional careers in both public and private sectors. The programs included the 16th mandatory training program for trainee lawyers with 14 participants, the 23rd professional development program for legal professionals with 54 participants, the third specialized training program for State Cases Department employees with 13 participants, and the Legal Pathway to the Labor Market initiative, which enrolled 21 participants. The latter initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and the Ministry of Labor.
The programs seek to address the needs of Qatar's legal professions by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical training, while developing participants' analytical abilities, professional judgment, and workplace skills. Dr. Abdullah Al Khaldi, Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, emphasized the importance of solid knowledge, informed practice, and continuous training for excellence in legal practice. He noted the center's efforts to modernize its programs to meet workplace requirements and emerging challenges.
Additionally, a new program was introduced this year to qualify employees holding general legal positions, featuring specialized training tracks in legislative drafting, case management, and disciplinary investigations. Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Director of the Rehabilitation and Skills Development Department at the Ministry of Labor, highlighted the ministry's commitment to developing national talent and preparing qualified legal professionals with a comprehensive understanding of labor market legislation and regulations.
The graduation aligns with Qatar's Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, aiming to build a future-ready workforce and achieve excellence in government institutions. The development of legal expertise and alignment of training with labor market needs are expected to enhance workforce readiness and institutional performance, strengthening pathways into both public and private sector employment.
