Doha: The Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026) has announced a new sponsorship agreement with Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), designating it as the “National Media Sponsor” for the event’s ninth edition. The exhibition will be held under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and organized by the Qatar Armed Forces. It is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 22 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari, Chairman of the Organising Committee of DIMDEX, and Ali Saleh Al Sada, Director of Qatar TV. The signing was witnessed by HE Commander of the Qatari Amiri Naval Forces, Major General (Sea) Abdullah bin Hassan Al Sulaiti.
This collaboration aims to utilize QMC’s media network to boost coverage of the exhibition, showcasing key innovations and strategic discussions both locally and regionally. The forthcoming edition is anticipated to draw defense ministers, chiefs of staff, naval commanders, senior government officials, and defense industry executives globally.
The renewed partnership underscores the importance of media collaboration in highlighting DIMDEX’s global significance and national role. QMC’s previous coverage has been instrumental in promoting the event’s themes and establishing it as a prominent platform for maritime security and defense cooperation.
QMC will cover significant activities at the event, such as the main exhibition of maritime technologies, the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference, and visits by official delegations and defense industry leaders. The display of visiting warships at Hamad Port will also be featured.
Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari expressed satisfaction in continuing the partnership with QMC, emphasizing the importance of its media reach in connecting the global maritime security community and highlighting innovations. He noted QMC’s commitment to high-quality coverage aligns with DIMDEX’s objectives of enhancing Qatar’s international profile.
Director of Qatar TV, Ali Saleh Al Sada, thanked the Qatar Armed Forces and the organizing committee for their renewed trust. He affirmed that Qatar TV will use all its platforms to broadcast the exhibition’s events, reinforcing the event’s significance and aiding its promotion globally.
Qatar Media Corporation, as the umbrella for official media in Qatar, includes various TV and radio channels. It aims to keep pace with modern media developments, providing content that supports growth while adhering to the state’s values and cultural norms.
