Ottawa: The State of Qatar took part in the 85th Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE 2024) Conference in Ottawa. HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi chaired Qatar’s delegation to the conference from November 3-6. Addressing the conference, His Excellency called for building smart, innovative, and sustainable partnerships in the field of international education cooperation that benefit all concerned parties, especially enhancing student exchange programs and supporting joint research projects, which contributes to achieving global education goals in light of the challenges and concerns facing the world.
According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the importance of collaboration with universities, educational and research institutions, and global partners to achieve the aspirations of young people and prepare them for future leadership. He highlighted Qatar’s development in education and its achievements, noting that the
country’s leadership prioritizes education as the cornerstone of sustainable development. The Qatari education system has made significant strides in digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies, aligning with the country’s National Vision 2030, launched in 2008, to consolidate Qatar’s status as an advanced nation.
Dr. Al Nuaimi elaborated on the initiatives under Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, which focus on modern educational methodologies and diverse opportunities to align with students’ trends and market needs. The MOEHE strategy 2024-2030, themed “Igniting the Flame of Learning,” aims to develop an integrated educational system that fosters critical thinking, cooperation, and ethics, preparing a generation equipped with 21st-century skills.
He praised the CBIE conference as a significant platform for global experts to discuss international student education issues, urging a reevaluation of international education management to prepare students for future leade
rship roles. The CBIE 2024 conference gathered over 1,300 participants from 50 countries and more than 60 exhibitors, engaging in 75 discussion sessions on the future of international education. These sessions covered topics like scholarships, research, and training programs, underscoring international education’s role in fostering understanding and building sustainable ties among nations.
