Doha: Qatar Foundation (QF) has organized a specialized training program involving over 30 teachers from its Pre-University Education (PUE) schools, with the goal of enhancing their skills in teaching 'Islamic Civilization' and enriching their pedagogical approaches.

According to Qatar News Agency, this initiative underscores QF's dedication to providing teachers with modern tools and advanced resources, ensuring that the subject is taught in an interactive manner that strengthens students' cultural identities while encouraging broader engagement with the global community.

Abeer Al Khalifa, President of QF's PUE, emphasized the significance of teaching 'Islamic Civilization', stating that it is more than just a curriculum subject. It serves as a cornerstone of the educational journey, offering students the opportunity to delve into their rich history and cultural heritage. Al Khalifa highlighted that the awareness of Islamic civilization gives students a profound sense of identity and belonging, fostering pride in their roots while also preparing them for global interaction with confidence and openness.

Al Khalifa also pointed out that the curriculum reinforces universal human values, enhances critical thinking, and encourages students to connect historical insights with contemporary challenges to build the future. She stressed the central role of teachers in achieving these educational objectives, highlighting QF's commitment to investing in their professional development through modern pedagogical tools and continuous training opportunities.

The introduction of the 'Islamic Civilization' curriculum across all QF schools by the 2025-2026 academic year reflects QF's belief in the importance of connecting students with their heritage to deepen their understanding of identity and belonging. This innovative curriculum will be implemented for students in grades six through nine in QF's Pre-University Education schools.
