New york: The State of Qatar actively participated in the annual ministerial meeting of foreign ministers of the least developed countries (LDCs) at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the assembly, emphasizing Qatar's ongoing commitment to supporting LDCs.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's delegation was led by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad. During the meeting, Dr. Al Misnad presented Qatar's efforts in assisting LDCs through various development and humanitarian initiatives. She underscored Qatar's focus on helping these countries achieve sustainable development.
Dr. Al Misnad addressed the necessity of international cooperation to tackle global challenges such as climate change and humanitarian crises. She stressed that such global issues demand the solidarity of the international community to prevent the marginalization of LDCs. Furthermore, she reiterated Qatar's dedication to maintaining partnerships with the United Nations and other global entities to foster development and prosperity in LDCs.
