Qatar Engages in GCC Meeting on Agriculture and Food Security

Doha: The State of Qatar took part in an extraordinary meeting involving the Undersecretaries of Agriculture and Food Security from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, conducted via video conference. The Qatari delegation was led by Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Food Security Affairs, Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Al Qahtani.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting addressed a series of measures implemented by the GCC nations to fortify strategic food reserves and maintain the uninterrupted flow of food supply chains among member countries. Additionally, the discussion included efforts to facilitate trade with both exporting and importing nations.

The Undersecretaries were updated on the results from the 5th extraordinary meeting of the Executive Council of the Customs Union Authority. They also reviewed decisions made by the Committee of Ministers of Transport and Communications at its 28th extraordinary meeting, aimed at bolstering the food security system and furthering the integration and coordination of joint efforts among GCC countries.
