Cairo: The State of Qatar took part in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of Permanent Representatives, held at the League's headquarters in Cairo. The meeting focused on the escalating Israeli activities in occupied Jerusalem and the controversial Israeli Knesset's approval of a law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's delegation was led by HE Ambassador Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Thani, who serves as the State of Qatar's Permanent Representative to the Arab League and Ambassador to Egypt. The session was convened upon the request of the State of Palestine, aiming to discuss strategies for addressing Israeli infractions and the continuous aggression towards Palestinians.
The discussions underscored the need for a unified Arab response to the ongoing situation in Jerusalem, emphasizing the protection of Islamic and Christian sanctuaries. Participants deliberated on effective measures to counteract what they described as increasing violations and the implications of the newly endorsed execution law.
