Qatar Engages in Arab League Meeting on Israel’s Plan to Reoccupy Gaza

Cairo: The State of Qatar took part in an Arab League Council extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates, convened at the General Secretariat of the Arab League's headquarters in Cairo. The meeting, held on Sunday, was called to discuss Israel's decision to completely reoccupy Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, the session focused on developing mechanisms for Arab and international efforts to stop what is described as genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians. These efforts include addressing Israel's plans to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip, solidify its occupation, and enforce the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Maryam Ahmed Al Shibi, Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League, led Qatar's delegation at this critical gathering. The extraordinary session was initiated at the request of the State of Palestine, given the continued aggressive actions, genocide, and ethnic cleansing by Israel against the Palestinian population. The Israeli government announced plans to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, aiming for full control, which has led to forced displacements and numerous massacres. These actions reflect a continuation of aggressive crimes over the past 673 days, including a deadly siege and the use of starvation as a method of genocide.
