Dubai: The State of Qatar took part in the 94th Executive Council meeting of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, as well as a workshop for representatives from the ministries of education in member states. The event, which focused on the strategic direction of the bureau, was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and saw the participation of Their Excellencies Undersecretaries of Ministries of Education from the member states.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, who is also a member of the Executive Council. In his address, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the significance of the meeting in enhancing the educational process and fostering collaboration among the Gulf states. He highlighted the importance of developing educational systems to align with future aspirations and achieve goals that benefit the region's peoples and future generations, thereby consolidating their competitive position globally.
His Excellency praised the bureau's programs, activities, and affiliated bodies during the past financial cycle, asserting that they met the desired objectives as evidenced by the outputs, achievement indicators, and reports. He noted that these efforts have contributed to developing educational policies and practices adopted by the member states, thus strengthening joint Gulf action and cooperation.
The 94th Executive Council meeting also covered several key issues, including the final accounts and financial statements, draft regulations for enhancing the bureau's additional financial resources, and a presentation by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences. The presentation focused on the quality of education in the GCC countries and the foundation's initiatives, among other agenda topics.
