Qatar Emphasizes Humanitarian Principles at Global Forum in London

London: The State of Qatar participated today in the Global Humanitarian Forum held in London, with representation from the Doha Forum. The State of Qatar was represented by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad. According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency emphasized the importance of adhering to a principled and consistent approach to humanitarian work, particularly in the face of escalating global crises. She noted that when legal frameworks are not upheld, humanitarian actions must be guided by principles and ethics to ensure they remain neutral, non-discriminatory, and protective of human dignity. Her Excellency stressed that the implementation of international humanitarian law and related conventions is a legal and moral obligation, essential for safeguarding civilians and preserving human dignity. She highlighted that ongoing violations of these laws reinforce the urgent need to uphold humanitarian and ethical principles, which serve as a defense ag ainst violations and a foundation for protecting human rights and promoting global humanitarian justice. Her Excellency affirmed Qatar's commitment to promoting dialogue and striving for stability, underscoring the country's dedication to providing humanitarian aid to those in need, particularly the most vulnerable. She highlighted Qatar's focus on supporting women in conflict zones and emphasized their role in peace and security processes, reflecting the country's belief in empowering women as key partners in achieving stability and building communities.
