Qatar Embarks on Ambitious QR 81 Billion Infrastructure Plan

Doha: The State of Qatar is making significant strides in its development journey, marked by an ambitious new infrastructure plan unveiled by the Public Works Authority, known as Ashghal. This expansive five-year initiative, valued at over QR 81 billion, aims to transform the nation's infrastructure landscape from 2025 to 2029.

According to Qatar News Agency, the plan is set to cover a wide array of sectors, including the development of residential plots for citizens, construction of government buildings, enhancement of sewage networks, and the creation of strategic drainage outfalls. This comprehensive strategy underscores Qatar's commitment to building on its recent infrastructure achievements and sets the stage for the largest investment in Ashghal's history.

The scope of this initiative is designed to ensure that Qatar's infrastructure is not only modern and integrated but also capable of supporting the country's ambitious development and modernization goals. By addressing vital sectors such as sewage and water management, and sustainable rainwater management, the plan aims to foster a more livable and connected urban environment.

The focus on "humanization of cities" is a central theme, as the plan emphasizes creating infrastructure that enhances livability, incorporates green spaces, and ensures efficient connectivity. This approach aligns with Qatar's vision of providing more than just basic services, ultimately improving the quality of life for its residents and shaping the infrastructure for future generations.
