Doha: Qatari newspapers on Sunday spotlighted two major topics.
According to Qatar News Agency, the first focus was the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for the 19th edition of the Qatar Education Excellence Award ceremony. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is set to honor 108 distinguished individuals, with an emphasis on impact, depth of understanding, leadership, and creative initiative, rather than merely counting grades.
The second focus in the newspapers was the fraternal visit by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the United Arab Emirates. The visit, which took place on Saturday, involved discussions on the latest regional developments and explored prospects for Qatari-UAE cooperation.
Under the headline "Qatar Celebrates its Children's Achievements," Al-Raya newspaper emphasized the significance of the Education Excellence Award ceremony. The editorial described it as a testament to the support provided by HH the Amir for educational institutions, highlighting the principle that investment in people is essential for national development. This year's edition marks the 20th anniversary of the award's inception in 2006, continuing the legacy of "Education Day."
The award, over two decades, has evolved into a comprehensive national project that nurtures scientific leaders. Al-Raya stressed that excellence is a supreme value, and the award adheres to strict standards, granting platinum and gold medals based on rigorous evaluations. The paper concluded that the award is a testament to Qatar's commitment to investing in intellect and making knowledge a bridge to the future.
Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper focused on HH the Amir's visit to Abu Dhabi and his meeting with HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The editorial, titled "Prioritizing Dialogue: The Approach of Qatari Diplomacy," noted that the meeting addressed regional and international developments, with an emphasis on dialogue and diplomatic solutions to challenges in the Middle East.
Al-Sharq highlighted Qatar's commitment to promoting security and stability in the region, allowing for prosperity and development opportunities. It concluded that Qatar remains dedicated to addressing regional challenges through diplomatic means, supporting efforts that enhance peace and development in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
