Qatar Condemns Israel’s Demolition Operations in UNRWA Complex

Doha: The State of Qatar has expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation authorities' initiation of demolition operations within the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) complex in occupied Jerusalem. This action, involving the participation of the Israeli Minister of National Security, is seen by Qatar as a direct violation of international humanitarian law and a significant challenge to global consensus.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Tuesday, highlighting concerns that Israel's targeted actions against UNRWA are intended to dismantle the agency and deny millions of Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon access to essential services. The ministry emphasized the urgent need for the international community to take responsibility and actively oppose Israel's unlawful measures to avert disastrous consequences.

The ministry reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for UNRWA, underscoring its commitment to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their aspiration to establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
