Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation against statements made by the Israeli occupation's Minister of Finance, who has instructed preparations for infrastructure to annex the occupied West Bank. According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar described these statements as a blatant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2334. Qatar views this move as a dangerous escalation, potentially hindering peace efforts in the region, especially amidst the ongoing severe conflict in the Gaza Strip and its catastrophic aftermath. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in a statement released on Tuesday, emphasized the international community's responsibility to confront the colonial and settlement policies of the Israeli occupation. The ministry highlighted repeated violations of Palestinian rights, including crimes in the West Bank and efforts to Judaize Jerusalem, as urgent issues requiring global attention. The statement also called for reinforced international so lidarity to achieve a two-state solution, which is deemed essential for lasting peace in the region. Furthermore, the Ministry underscored that the recurring Israeli statements, which violate international laws and resolutions, clearly signify that the occupation remains the major barrier to peace and stability. Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the country's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. Qatar continues to advocate for the two-state solution, which envisions an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
