Qatar Condemns Iranian Missile Attacks, Calls for Dialogue

Doha: Ministries of Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs have confirmed that the armed forces successfully intercepted waves of Iranian missiles, resulting in no casualties.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Hashmi stated that Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of its territory with Iranian ballistic missiles, viewing it as a violation of sovereignty and a threat to regional security.

Al Hashmi emphasized Qatar's right to respond in line with international law and the UN Charter, defending its sovereignty and security. He reiterated Qatar's commitment to dialogue with Iran as a means to address disputes peacefully and prevent regional instability.

He criticized the attacks as inconsistent with good neighborliness, noting Qatar's role as a mediator in regional conflicts. Al Hashmi highlighted the importance of mutual understanding and dialogue, especially during times of regional tension.

Al Hashmi also expressed Qatar's condemnation of the violation of sovereignty of neighboring countries, reaffirming solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. He extended condolences to the family of a Pakistani national killed in Abu Dhabi due to the attacks and condemned any targeting of civilians, citing international humanitarian law.

He concluded by urging for an immediate cessation of military actions and a return to negotiations to preserve regional security and prevent broader conflicts.
