Chambly: Team Qatar, representing the Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) of the Joint Special Forces, is competing in the 12th FAI World Paramotor Championships, taking place in Chambly, France, from August 23 to 31, 2025. The championship, organized under the auspices of the World Air Sports Federation (FAI), has drawn 85 pilots from 16 countries, including 14 from Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari Paramotor Team is renowned for its technical precision and formation flying, combining paramotors with paragliding wings to perform both static and dynamic aerial maneuvers. Qatar currently holds the world No. 1 ranking in paramotor competitions under the FAI, reflecting its dominance over the past three years.

Team Qatar is contesting three official competition classes: Navigation, Economy, and Precision. The Navigation class involves tasks where pilots must accurately locate and reach GPS-defined waypoints set by judges. The Economy class consists of endurance tasks that measure fuel efficiency, with pilots aiming to maximize flight duration using a limited quantity of fuel. The Precision class includes accuracy-based tasks testing fine control of the wing and paramotor.

One of the highlight events in the Precision category is the "Bowling Landing," where pilots climb to a set altitude, cut the engine, and glide down to strike foam pylons placed on the ground. Winners are determined by cumulative scores across all tasks, with the pilot achieving the highest overall total crowned world champion.
