Doha: Qatar Charity has signed a framework cooperation agreement with Ibn Sina University Hospital Center in Morocco to support life-saving treatment for children with congenital heart defects. This collaboration aims to enhance access to specialized medical care that can significantly improve the health and long-term quality of life for these children.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement will focus on interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, a highly specialized area of medicine designed to treat certain heart defects without the need for open-heart surgery. This advanced technique reduces surgical risks, accelerates recovery, and ultimately improves the long-term quality of life for the young patients.

Qatar Charity highlighted that these procedures are costly due to the need for advanced equipment and specialized expertise, often putting them out of reach for low-income families. The partnership, therefore, holds significant humanitarian value by alleviating this burden and enabling children from underprivileged backgrounds to access high-quality cardiac catheterization services. It also aims to bolster the capacity of Ibn Sina University Hospital Center to manage complex cases effectively.
