Qatar Charity Begins Home Restoration Project in Syria’s Hama Countryside

Doha: Qatar Charity, in partnership with the Emergency Response Team, has launched a major new initiative to restore 300 homes in the Al-Ghab Plain region of western Hama, Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, this project marks the first phase of a broader home rehabilitation campaign announced during the 27th night of Ramadan. The campaign garnered overwhelming public support and generosity across Qatar.

Director of Development Operations at Qatar Charity, Abdulaziz Haji, stated that the project aims to restore over 1,500 homes across Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama. This initial phase, which includes 300 homes, is being implemented in close cooperation with the Emergency Response Team.

In his address, Deputy Governor of Hama, Taameh, praised Qatar Charity's longstanding humanitarian efforts in northern Syria, noting the critical role this project plays in rebuilding not just homes, but lives. He highlighted its significance in improving living conditions for returnees-families who have endured years of displacement-by contributing to stability, safety, and renewed hope in their home communities.

The project is being implemented in coordination with local authorities to ensure the most vulnerable families are targeted and that safety and quality standards are applied during restoration, ensuring the sustainable humanitarian impact of this intervention.
