Doha: HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani met with HE Member of Parliament, Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, and Minister for Finance in Australia's State Government of Victoria Danny Pearson and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen trade ties between Qatar and the Australian state.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting, attended by HE Ambassador of Australia to Qatar Shane Flanagan and Director of International Relations and Chamber Affairs at Qatar Chamber Sheikha Tamader Al-Thani, focused on enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of Qatar and Victoria. Key areas of interest included technology, food security, and infrastructure.
HE Sheikh Khalifa praised the existing bilateral commercial, economic, and investment relations, highlighting the presence of many Australian companies in the Qatari market. He expressed Qatar Chamber's commitment to encouraging Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Victoria, especially in education, tourism, and food security.
HE Danny Pearson acknowledged the strong bilateral ties and expressed a keen interest in attracting Qatari investments to Victoria. He pointed to promising opportunities in real estate, food security, and tourism, extending an invitation to Qatari firms to explore these sectors.
First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari emphasized the potential for cooperation and partnership between Qatari and Australian private sectors. He encouraged Australian investors to expand their presence in Qatar, taking advantage of its advanced infrastructure and incentives for foreign investors. He also highlighted the increasing interest of Qatari investors in exploring investment opportunities in Australia.
