Manama, The State of Qatar chaired the 101st session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, held in Manama, Bahrain, on Monday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of HE Media Adviser in the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al Obaidan after the State of Qatar won the presidency of the committee by a majority during the voting process that took place recently at the headquarters of the General-Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
Head of the international cooperation office at QMC Sheikh Ahmed bin Thani Al-Thani led the QMC’s delegation to the session.
The session discussed the agenda items, foremost of which were supporting the Palestinian question from media perspective, the 2030 media map for sustainable development, leveraging AI in the Arab media, crafting a unified strategy to engage with the international media companies and monitoring the Arab media action plan abroad.
The committee is due to submit its recommendations to the Executive Council on Tuesd
ay to be further endorsed in upcoming the 54th ordinary session of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council in Bahrain on Wednesday.
