Qatar Celebrates Education Excellence and Hosts Global Technology Event

Doha: In a significant confluence of education and technology, Qatar is celebrating the winners of its prestigious Education Excellence Award while simultaneously hosting the Qatar Web Summit 2025, one of the most important international events focused on technology and innovation.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatari newspapers on Sunday emphasized the dual significance of these events. The Education Excellence Award, now in its 18th edition, honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in education, with the ceremony graced by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. This event underscores Qatar's enduring commitment to knowledge as a cornerstone of national progress.

Al-Watan newspaper highlighted that the patronage of His Highness at the award ceremony sends important messages about the value Qatar places on educational excellence, positioning it as a vital component of a knowledge-driven society. The newspaper also emphasized the role of the Web Summit, a major global platform that brings together leaders, entrepreneurs, startups, and investors to foster innovation and technology partnerships.

Al-Watan further elaborated on how the Web Summit supports Qatar's ambitions to develop a knowledge-based economy. It aligns with the country's Third National Development Strategy, which aims for sustainable economic growth and an advanced digital economy driven by robust infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper echoed these sentiments, noting the dual celebration of educational excellence and technological advancement. The Qatar Web Summit 2025, which begins today, will feature a speech by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on the future of technology, innovation, and global cooperation.

Al-Sharq also reported that the HE Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani announced that all tickets for the summit have been sold out, with participation numbers exceeding 25,000, a two-thirds increase from the previous year. This surge in interest underscores the summit's importance as a springboard for innovators and startups seeking funding and expansion opportunities.

The newspaper concluded by affirming that the summit demonstrates Qatar's status as an ideal environment for technological and educational excellence.
