Qatar Asserts Right to Defend Sovereignty Amid Iranian Aggression

Doha: Qatari newspapers have focused their Wednesday editorials on Qatar's high military readiness in facing Iranian attacks targeting its territory and vital facilities. The editorials also highlighted Qatar's diplomatic and legal actions through the United Nations and the Security Council to document these attacks and assert its right to protect its sovereignty in line with the UN Charter.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Raya newspaper emphasized Qatar's multi-pronged approach to preserve its security amid ongoing Iranian attacks. The State of Qatar has communicated its commitment to defend its sovereignty through official channels, addressing a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council. This letter serves as an official documentation of the violations and reinforces Qatar's right to respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Al Raya further noted that Qatar's reliance on diplomatic and legal measures is a testament to its commitment to international law and the maintenance of regional peace and security. Qatar's national security is closely tied to the stability of the Gulf region, and its actions aim to uphold this stability while advocating for calm and lawful resolutions.

Al Sharq newspaper also highlighted Qatar's commitment to diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution. It underscored the efficiency and readiness of the Qatari Armed Forces and security agencies in defending against the Iranian aggression. The newspaper noted Qatar's ability to intercept missiles and drones, showcasing its preparedness to protect its citizens and territory.

Despite the capability to respond militarily, Qatar continues to engage with international partners to de-escalate tensions. The State of Qatar remains steadfast in its diplomatic efforts to foster regional stability and security, demonstrating a balance between defense readiness and a commitment to peace.
