The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at the Qatar Chamber has launched a new package of electronic services via its website.
This comes in the context of QICCAs strategy to enhance its digital infrastructure and provide electronic services that aim to streamline procedures for those seeking arbitration as a fast and efficient means of resolving commercial disputes, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
New services include the submission of arbitration claims and requests and the electronic filing of Notices of Arbitration and Response to the Notice of Arbitration. Additionally, they include providing an electronic database for all cases, enabling relevant parties and arbitration bodies to have access to case files whenever necessary.
QICCA’s Secretary-General Ibrahim Shahbik said that this initiative represents the first phase of an important project the Centre is currently undertaking to establish an integrated e-platform for case management and tracking. He noted th
at the platform is expected to be completed shortly.
He emphasized that the platform would enable parties, arbitrators, and lawyers to fully manage and monitor cases electronically, from registering the arbitration case and attending sessions to submitting documents and reaching the final arbitration award.
Shahbik highlighted that QICCA has successfully provided numerous arbitration services to the Qatari business community over the past years and has achieved significant accomplishments in this area.
Underscoring the business community’s confidence in QICCA, he pointed to the increasing volume and number of cases in all categories the Centre receives annually, emphasizing that this year has witnessed the highest number of cases since its establishment.
