Doha: A joint statement has been issued by the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during the visit of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to Doha. In a meeting held at the Amiri Diwan, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, welcomed Prime Minister Sharif and his delegation, emphasizing the importance of enhancing economic partnerships and increasing trade and investments between the two countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, both leaders expressed a strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. Prime Minister Sharif expressed appreciation for Qatar’s continuous support to Pakistan and highlighted investment opportunities in Pakistan’s vital economic sectors. The discussions revolved around expanding cooperation in investment, trade, and other fields, addressing key regional and international developments of mutual concern.
The visit also included a meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Th
ani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. They explored ways to enhance bilateral relations and collaboration in economy, trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the significant role of the Pakistani community in Qatar in strengthening ties between the two nations.
Qatar’s commitment to Pakistan as a strategic partner was reiterated, with an emphasis on deepening economic ties to serve mutual interests. Both sides stressed the importance of peaceful resolutions to regional and international issues, with Prime Minister Sharif lauding Qatar’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, particularly in mediating the Palestinian issue and promoting regional stability.
The leaders agreed on the necessity of continuing high-level visits to foster mutual understanding and cooperation.
