Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, engaged in discussions on regional and international developments during their meeting at Lusail Palace on Saturday. The meeting was part of Meloni's working visit to Qatar, which concluded with her departure on the same day.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the recent riots and attacks that targeted the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the residence of its head of mission in Damascus. Qatar emphasized the importance of respecting the inviolability of diplomatic missions.

In a gesture of goodwill, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent congratulations to HE President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on the occasion of Senegal's National Day, highlighting Qatar's commitment to fostering international relations.

HE Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Qatar, Paolo Toschi, noted that Giorgia Meloni's visit was significant as it marked the first visit by a leader from a G20 country to the Gulf region since the onset of the current conflict. The visit underscored Italy's support, solidarity, and friendship with Qatar.

In domestic developments, the Ministry of Interior announced the launch of a service enabling electronic payment of financial claims via its website and the Metrash App, aiming to streamline administrative processes for residents.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs also took steps to enhance religious education, launching 14 new study circles for Quran recitation across multiple learning centers in the country. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote Quranic education and foster a culture of care for the Holy Quran.

In a related event, the Qatar Chamber facilitated a webinar organized by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), focusing on managing legal, insurance, and operational risks amidst the current Middle East security situation.
