Qatar and India Sign MoU to Boost Investment Cooperation

Doha: CEO of Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar) Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani highlighted the significance of the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Invest Qatar and the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of India (Invest India). This agreement is expected to create promising horizons and new opportunities for a qualitative leap in cooperation across multiple sectors, thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth in both countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, a delegation from the Security Systems Department at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) recently visited the Aviation Department of the General Directorate of Security in the Republic of Turkiye. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral security cooperation.

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Interior, also participated in the inaugural meeting of the Digital Transformation and Security Services Development Committee within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This meeting was held at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.

In a bid to enhance professional skills, the Ministry of Labour's Department of Qualifying Skills and Development hosted a specialized training course titled "Financial Accounting According to International Standards." This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA).

Marking a strategic technological advancement, the Ministry of Finance announced the launch of the official website for the Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution, affiliated with the World Economic Forum in Qatar. This step is aimed at fostering technological innovation in the nation.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) organized its inaugural career fair, attended by HE MOEHE Undersecretary Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, providing a platform for career development and networking.

In cultural endeavors, the Ministry of Culture (MOC), in partnership with Qatar University, hosted a seminar on human values and the challenges of contemporary civilizational relations, as part of the 4th Seminar Season.

The Government Communications Office (GCO) confirmed that all preparations have been completed for the anticipated 2nd edition of Web Summit Qatar, scheduled from February 23-26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

Furthermore, the GCO, in collaboration with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), organized a workshop titled 'Fundamentals of Media Monitoring,' with participation from public relations and communications professionals across 15 ministries and government entities.

The Shura Council took part in a meeting in Cairo, in preparation for the upcoming 7th conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments.

In the healthcare sector, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has been accredited by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) as a continuing professional development (CPD) educational organization for a term of five years.

The Qatar Exports Office was inaugurated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to facilitate Qatari products' access to the Saudi market, enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.

On the financial front, the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index closed Wednesday's trading session slightly higher by 0.03 points, or 0.08 percent, standing at 10,646.13 points.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Cultural Attache to the United Kingdom launched the "Haddathna" podcast program, focusing on enhancing Qatari students' skills in media presentation and passport management.

The Second International Conference on Religious Freedom and Peacemaking, organized by the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) and the Multi-Faith Neighbors Network (MFNN), continued its sessions for the second day.

Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), in collaboration with MATAR and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), initiated a trial for the latest autonomous transportation solutions at Hamad International Airport (DOH), marking a pioneering step in the region.

In sports, Qatari Khalil Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatari, Arab, and Asian Federations, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the International Table Tennis Federation, a historic first for a Qatari.

Lastly, Qatar Tennis Federation Board Member and Chairman of the Media Committee for Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2025, Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Subaie, reaffirmed the Organizing Committee's dedication to ensuring the success of the 500-point category tournament.
