Qatar and Egypt Praise Hamas’ Decision to Release American Hostage

Doha: The State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt have expressed their approval of the announcement by Hamas regarding its decision to release the American hostage Edan Alexander, who had been held by the group.

According to Qatar News Agency, both nations view this agreement as a positive step towards resuming negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The release is seen as a move that could facilitate discussions on releasing prisoners and hostages and ensuring the safe delivery of aid to the region.

Qatar and Egypt have highlighted the urgent need to conclude the ongoing conflict in Gaza to prevent further humanitarian issues. They are urging all parties to proceed with genuine intentions towards achieving lasting peace in the region.

Both countries remain committed to their mediation efforts in the Gaza Strip, coordinating closely with the United States. Their goal is to alleviate civilian suffering and establish conditions conducive to a comprehensive ceasefire, ultimately aiming to end the current conflict and the humanitarian crisis it has triggered.
