Doha: Al-Raya highlighted that since the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza, Qatar and Egypt, in collaboration with the United States, have been actively involved in mediation efforts to establish a ceasefire. The mediators have also focused on securing a prisoner exchange deal and preventing further conflict escalation in the Middle East.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the aggression, Qatar and Egypt’s efforts led to initiatives aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. Qatar supports the Palestinian aspirations for an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital and the return of refugees. From the beginning of the aggression, Qatar intensified communications with relevant parties and stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in negotiating a ceasefire, which received international commendation, notably from the Arab states’ joint statement during a meeting in Egypt.
Al-Raya emphasized Qatar’s rejection of any displacement of Palestinians or liquidation of their cause and warned against continued Israeli military escalation. On the domestic front, Al-Watan reported Qatar’s commitment to providing a favorable investment climate, supported by a robust legislative system. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will offer evening Single Window Services to simplify procedures for investors.
Furthermore, the Peninsula noted Qatar’s progress towards hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, with the recent unveiling of its official brand and logo. Inspired by the traditional Bisht and the James Naismith Trophy, the logo exemplifies Qatar’s cultural identity and ambition on the global sports stage. The event aims to blend tradition, culture, and sportsmanship, leaving a lasting legacy.
