Bogotá: HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Colombia Issa bin Jaber Al Kuwari affirmed that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the Republic of Colombia reflects the keenness of the leaderships of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency stated that the visit is an important step toward achieving a broader strategic partnership, which includes sectors such as the economy, trade, tourism, and investment, in addition to enhancing political and diplomatic cooperation. HE emphasized that the visit reaffirms the depth of the ties between the two countries and opens new horizons for sustainable cooperation that serves their mutual interests, highlighting the historical relationship spanning over 29 years.

A number of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) are expected to be signed during the visit, which will contribute to supporting high-quality projects in vital se
ctors, including the economy and trade, youth and sport, tourism, media exchange, and ports. HE the Ambassador stressed that this will enhance economic and social development in both countries.

HE added that Qatari-Colombian relations are undergoing noticeable progress, backed by a shared vision to achieve stability and development. He noted that the visit is part of Qatar’s efforts to broaden its international partnerships in a way that serves its national interests and contributes to global development.
