Doha: The Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) has announced its participation in the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Championship 2025, a well-known international contest in the amateur radio community. Secretary of QARS, Sabaan Mismar Al Jassim, highlighted that QARS participates annually in this championship as a member society of the IARU.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Jassim emphasized the significance of this participation in enhancing Qatar's global reputation as a supportive nation for amateur radio activities. The involvement in the championship seeks to motivate association members to engage in international events and achieve high rankings at various levels, including global, continental, and local. This event serves as a platform for connecting association members with amateur radio enthusiasts worldwide and offers new members a chance to gain valuable experience through international engagement.

Al Jassim also noted the objective of their participation is to make contact with as many licensed amateurs as possible, particularly those from IARU member communities across the globe. The championship provides certificates for the highest scores in each category within each IARU region, along with participation certificates for every IARU station and those affiliated with the Board of Directors and the Regional Executive Committee. Additionally, numerous prizes are awarded to the participants.
