Putin Warns US Against Supplying Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin cautioned on Sunday that US plans to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles would significantly harm relations between Moscow and Washington. The warning comes amid ongoing discussions about delivering new weapons systems to Ukraine, including long-range, high-precision systems such as Tomahawk missiles, as stated by Putin.

According to Qatar News Agency, Putin emphasized that such a move would destroy Russian-American relations or at the very least, disrupt the positive momentum that has recently begun to emerge. When asked whether Western leaders would heed the warning he delivered during his speech at the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin remarked that it is up to European leaders to decide their response. He added that he had articulated his position clearly at the forum.

In related developments, US Vice President J.D. Vance mentioned to Fox News that the administration is discussing the possibility of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, although the final decision remains with the president. Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed that any shipments containing weapons bound for Ukraine would be considered legitimate targets by Russia, adding that Western arms deliveries to Kyiv are hindering negotiations and could have adverse consequences.
