Mogadishu, A prominent leader of the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab movement was killed in a military operation carried out by the Somali army in Bakool, south-central Somalia.
Somali army said that the military operation took place in Garsuini area, killing the leader who was responsible for issuing instructions to Al-Shabaab members to kill and threaten civilians, in addition to blocking roads in Bakool Governorate, according to Somali news agency (SONNA).
Earlier on Monday, Somali security forces managed to thwart an armed operation carried out by two members of Al-Shabaab movement in Banaadir Governorate, which resulted in the killing of one of them, while the other was arrested.
