According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister's message was a gesture of goodwill, marking South Africa's national celebration known as Freedom Day. This day commemorates the first post-apartheid elections held on April 27, 1994, which were pivotal in establishing democratic governance in South Africa. The cable highlighted the strong diplomatic ties between Qatar and South Africa and reiterated Qatar's commitment to fostering bilateral relations.
