Prime Minister of Qatar Discusses Regional Military Tensions with Japan’s Foreign Minister

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi. The discussion focused on the military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security, as well as exploring peaceful resolutions to ongoing disputes.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that Iran's attack on Qatar's territory is a violation of national sovereignty and contradicts principles of good neighborliness. He highlighted Qatar's efforts to avoid regional conflicts and its role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the international community. However, the continued targeting of Qatar's territory undermines these efforts and threatens bilateral relations.

Sheikh Mohammed called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions, advocating for a return to negotiations and prioritizing reason to resolve the crisis while maintaining regional security. HE the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed Japan's concerns about the situation and urged all involved parties to engage in diplomatic negotiations to prevent further instability.
