Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from Her Excellency Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada. The call focused on the military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security and stability, exploring peaceful resolutions to ongoing disputes.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the conversation, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Qatari territory. He stated that such actions are unacceptable under any pretext and reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to distancing itself from regional conflicts while promoting dialogue between Iran and the international community.
His Excellency highlighted the dangers of targeting vital infrastructure, including water, food, and energy facilities, warning that such attacks could pose multiple risks to the region's population. He called for an immediate halt to escalatory actions, urging a return to negotiations to preserve the region's security.
The Canadian Foreign Minister supported calls for de-escalation, emphasizing the importance of reason and diplomacy to prevent further chaos.
