Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan in Doha on Thursday. The discussions centered around the escalating military tensions in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability. They also explored peaceful resolutions to ongoing disputes and enhancing coordination to address current challenges.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister condemned Iranian attacks on Qatari territory, labeling them as unacceptable under any pretext. He highlighted Qatar's efforts to distance itself from regional conflicts and its role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the international community. He further emphasized that Iran's targeting of energy facilities violates international law, posing threats to global energy security, the environment, and freedom of navigation. He called for efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore regional and international security and stability.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Turkiye's consistent support and solidarity with Qatar amid various challenges. He praised the strong bilateral relations and ongoing coordination between the two nations, particularly in defense cooperation.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reiterated his country's full support for Qatar, condemning the Iranian attacks on Qatari sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that targeting vital infrastructure and civilian establishments represents a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law principles.
