Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil Mauro Vieira. The call focused on recent military escalations in the region and their impact on regional and international security and stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the discussion, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed grave concerns over the Iranian attack on Qatari territory, labeling it a blatant violation of sovereignty and inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness. His Excellency emphasized that such actions are unacceptable and highlighted Qatar's ongoing efforts to maintain neutrality in regional conflicts and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community. However, he noted that the renewed aggression threatens the foundational understandings of bilateral relations.
HE the Prime Minister called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions, urging a return to negotiations and the prioritization of reason and wisdom to contain the crisis and ensure regional security.
HE the Brazilian foreign minister, Mauro Vieira, echoed concerns regarding the developments in the region. He advocated for de-escalation, restraint, and the resumption of negotiations through diplomatic channels to prevent further instability.
