Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has issued Decision No. (3) of 2025, which inaugurates the Steering Committee for Smart Government and Digital Leadership. This initiative is a part of the nation's endeavor to construct a digital government system geared towards delivering efficient and effective services.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Committee will be led by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the Minister of Interior as Vice Chairman. The Committee's membership also includes high-ranking officials such as the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and others, reflecting a comprehensive government approach to digital integration.
The Committee is tasked with overseeing the execution of the Digital Government Strategy, ensuring coordination among various governmental and non-governmental bodies on projects related to digital government. It is also charged with approving executive plans and digital initiatives, issuing implementation decisions and policies, and contributing to economic and social progress through digital leadership.
The creation of this Steering Committee is aligned with the State's ambition to achieve governmental excellence as outlined in the Third National Development Strategy. By fostering a digital government model rooted in innovation, the initiative aims to support sustainable development and advance the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
