Palestinian Woman Martyred, Others Injured by Israeli Fire in Al Tuffah Neighborhood, East of Gaza City

Gaza city: A Palestinian woman was martyred and others were injured on Thursday when Israeli occupation forces opened fire east of Gaza City.

According to Qatar News Agency, medical sources in Gaza reported that a woman was martyred and several others were injured by Israeli fire in the Al Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City. The Al Tuffah neighborhood and the eastern areas of Gaza City have been subjected to intense shelling by Israeli artillery and warplanes for several days.

Buildings and residential blocks have been demolished by bulldozers packed with tons of explosives. The shelling and gunfire have resulted in the deaths of a number of civilians. The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 70,125 martyrs and 171,015 wounded.

The Ministry of Health reported in a statement that eight martyrs arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, six of whom were martyred by Israeli shelling, and two whose bodies were recovered from under the rubble. Sixteen citizens were injured in the past 24 hours. The Ministry noted that a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them.

The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect on Oct. 11, following the withdrawal of the Israeli army from populated areas and military sites in the Gaza Strip and the commencement of the return of displaced persons to the northern part of the Strip. This was part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza.
